Dr. Bueno de Mesquita is founder of Mesquita & Roundell, a company that uses game theory to predict world events. He has been called a modern Nostradamus and was featured on a two-part special on The History Channel. He is a professor at New York University, a Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, and author of “The Predictioneer’s Game: Using the Logic of Brazen Self-Interest to See and Shape the Future.”

The Eli Jaffe Film Competition is the first event sponsored by the Gillespie Forum to present student film and video projects that address public issues. The competition is open to undergraduate students at the six regional colleges: Vassar, Marist, Bard, Dutchess Community College, Mount Saint Mary College and The State University of New York at New Paltz. Both narrative and documentary projects will be considered. The competition will be juried by local filmmakers and film industry professionals.
